Finally! A Win...

MA is playing Cal Ripken and is in the Rookies A Division.  It's with a pitching machine and next year it'll be live pitch.  They have a total of 17 games they play this season and this win they finally got was their 16th game!
I call them the Bad News Bears...they are one of the smaller teams and have really had some challenges most of the season.  Their Coach (my husband) has worked with them on the dynamics of hitting and defense.  Most of the times the other teams run the scores up on our kids and don't give them an opportunity to play a decent game.  But game after game they push through and start to see some improvement.
This was an exciting game because our boys were putting the bat on the ball and looked like such a different team!  We're at the bottom of the (we only play up to the 6th inning) and we're down by 4 runs!  But our boys did it and won the game!
It was such a proud moment for all the parents in the stand!  We all said the exact same thing...Finally, A Win!

Mother's Day

We celebrated Mother's Day at our house.  Since I was hosting, I decided not to cook so I ordered chicken burritos and a grilled chicken mango salad at one of our favorite restaurants.  I made a couple side dishes and my mother-in-law made a chocolate cake.
It was a pretty quiet affair since mom was still in the hospital.  HB and her clan came and celebrated with us.
I got a charm necklace from them, which I absolutely love!!  And TJ bought a card for me!  He said because he has a job he can afford it.  He had MA pick out my chocolate from the both of them.
And my husband got me a very beautiful card that he so lovingly picked out.  He knows not to get me flowers.  All I want is a foot massage!!!
Afterwards we swung by the hospital and visited with mom.  She's getting released tomorrow and she can't wait!

Obachan's Hospital Stay

So, I got called out on FB from my dear sister about the demise of blogging.  As you can see it definitely has been awhile!  As I was visiting with my mom in the hospital, I figured this would be a good time to start blogging again!
Mom was admitted last night at the hospital after being in ER for about 15 hours.  They finally had a room open up around 9pm.  Hopefully it'll just be a few days and she'll be home by the weekend.

We just got done with MA's game (it ended early because the other team had limited players and they didn't have another catcher).  We still had time to run over to MA's school for Open House.  His teacher did a great job with the dinosaur theme.  She even had a volcano outside the classroom that the kids could make erupt.  Just amazed with all the work the kids put into for this Open House!

T-Ball 2013

MA's 1st game day for T-ball was a blast.  He was so looking forward to playing after watching big brother at all his baseball games.  Of course, all the kids were mainly 3-5 years old and didn't have a clue as to what they were doing.  Just a lot of parents encouraging the kids on what to do with each play as they all dived for the t-ball in herds of toddlers!

Family Game Night

I wanted to put a little twist for our Christmas get together so I thought it would be fun to do Family Game Night in the afternoon.  We had a lot of laughs and fun watching how silly everyone looked.  It was a series of 8 rapid games (based on the game show "Minute to Win It").  We spilt up into 3 teams...Team Santa, Team Rudolph and Team Frosty.
Everyone got into the spirit and even had a little competitiveness going on but all in all, we had a great time eating and playing...quality time with one another!

Christmas 2012

My 2nd year hosting Christmas at my house and what fun we had!  I did breakfast with all the trimmings and even had a hot cocoa, tea and juice bar.  The food was a hit and the get together was full of love and laughter!  Lots of gifts, and the Secret Santa gift exchange twist (with a homemade gift) is getting very creative!  Later that evening I incorporated Game Night to stretch out quality time with my family!
